What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

Neighbourhood Planning was introduced with the Localism Act 2011 and gives communities new powers and opportunities to set out a vision for how their community will develop over the next fifteen years in ways that identify local needs.

  • A Neighbourhood Plan for Mundesley, once adopted, will carry legal status for planning purposes.
  • Although supported by the Parish Council, it is Community-led, community researched and,
eventually, the community will be voting on whether to accept it or not.
  • Neighbourhood Plans aren’t just about housing and can be used to help protect our countryside, rural nature, historic sites and certain aspects of infrastructure.

The Neighbourhood Plan Working group meetings are not open to the public.

Consultation of the plan will place throughout the process.
